How to choose automation equipment?

Servo motor is a widely used motor in the field of automation. It is usually used to drive more accurate speed or position control components in projects. Designers of automation equipment often need to face various types of motor selection problems, and the motors provided by suppliers are also diverse, with many parameters, and often make beginners confused.

So how should we choose automation equipment?

1. Application scenario:

Controlled motors in the field of automation can be divided into servo motors, stepper motors, inverter motors, etc. For components that require more precise speed or position control, servo motor drive is selected. The inverter + frequency motor control method is a control method that changes the motor speed by changing the power frequency of the input motor. Generally only used for speed control of motor.

Compared with servo motors and stepper motors:

1. The servo motor uses closed-loop control, and the stepper motor is open-loop control;

2. Servo motor uses rotary encoder to measure accuracy, stepper motor uses step angle. The accuracy of the former on the general product level can reach hundreds of times the accuracy of the latter;

3. The control method is similar (pulse or direction signal).


Power supply:

The servo motor can be divided into AC servo motor and DC servo motor from the power supply.

The two are better choices. For general automation equipment, Party A will provide a standard 380V industrial power supply or 220V power supply. At this time, the servo motor corresponding to the power supply can be selected, and the conversion of the power supply type is avoided. However, there are some equipment, such as shuttle boards and AGV trolleys in the three-dimensional warehouse. Due to their mobile nature, most of them use their own DC power, so DC servo motors are generally used.


Third, the brake:

According to the design of the action mechanism, consider whether it will cause a reverse trend of the motor in a power outage or a stationary state. If there is a tendency to reverse, you need to choose a servo motor with a brake.
